Description

Ganga Bondam is a popular hybrid dwarf coconut variety, ideal for home gardens and small farms. It gives large, sweet tender coconuts on a compact tree that’s much easier to manage than tall varieties. Perfect if you want regular nariyal harvests, refreshing coconut water and a tropical look without needing a huge space.

WHAT YOU GET 🌿

  • 1 live, healthy Ganga Bondam hybrid dwarf coconut fruit plant

  • Approximate dispatch height: 2–4 feet, well-rooted and ready for planting

  • True-to-type dwarf variety suitable for gardens, farm plots and coastal homesteads

  • Planting-ready in a basic grower bag; you can shift it to pit/large drum/ground after receipt

KEY FEATURES 🥥

  • 🌴 Dwarf, compact tree (around 4–7 m at maturity), much shorter than standard tall coconuts, so easier to harvest.

  • 🕒 Early fruiting, generally starts bearing from about the 3rd–4th year under good care.

  • 🧴 Big, round fruits with very sweet, aromatic coconut water, often close to 1 litre per nut in mature trees.

  • 🥥 Good quantity of soft, tasty kernel suitable for fresh eating and kitchen use.

  • 📈 High-yielding variety; a well-managed tree can produce several dozen nuts per year.

PLANTING & CARE 🌱

  • Choose a sunny spot with at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight and plenty of space around the plant.

  • Dig a pit about 2×2×2 ft; mix topsoil with compost/FYM, sand (for drainage) and a little neem cake before planting.

  • Plant the sapling at the same depth as in the bag; firm the soil gently and water thoroughly after planting.

  • Water regularly for the first 1–2 years so the root zone stays moist but never waterlogged; reduce frequency once tree is established.

  • Apply organic manure or balanced NPK fertilizer 2–3 times a year around the drip line, lightly incorporating into soil.

  • Mulch around the base with dry leaves/coconut husk to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.

  • In coastal or windy areas, provide a temporary support stake until the plant anchors well.

  • Remove dry fronds and keep the crown clean; monitor for common coconut pests and treat promptly with recommended organic/chemical controls if needed.
